Tony Joe White cancels NZ show due to injury

Tony Joe White has been forced to cancel his upcoming Australia / New Zealand shows this October due to severe back pain.

Tony Joe is not a young man, and after a recent show at Nashville’s legendary Ryman, the great man was almost unable to walk after suffering severe pain in his calves and had to be helped off the stage while in extreme pain. Since then the discovery of a bulging disk in his back has meant an immediate end to future engagements that involve significant travel until physical therapy can hopefully reinstate him to a healthy state for travel.

From tour promoters. “Although there is disappointment in this cancellation, we only send him love and strength in his recovery. We hope to bring him down here again once he has recovered for all his adoring fans to experience his greatness one more time.”

Tony Joe was set to headline at the Southern Fork Americana Fest in Auckland on October 10th.

Ticket holders for the Tony Joe White show and Festival Pass holders will be contacted directly by Ticketmaster and will have the option to request a full refund or wait until the replacement act has been announced before making the decision, after which they will still have the option of a full refund.

Additional tickets they may have purchased through the red/white/blue scheme will still be valid
