Sheppard announced as support for Justin Bieber's NZ show

Queensland’s biggest pop export Sheppard is joining forces with Canada’s as they support Justin Bieber on his upcoming Purpose Tour which hits stadiums across Australia and New Zealand next month.

The Purpose Tour will coincide with the March release of the first global single from Sheppard’s upcoming sophomore album and dials things up to yet another level for the band who have spent the last few years topping charts across the world, racking up over 400 million streams, picking up a swag of ARIA, APRA and AIR awards and delivering one of the biggest Australian hits of the decade with their pop classic ‘Geronimo’.  In New Zealand, ‘Geronimo’ has achieved Double Platinum status, and this will be Sheppard’s first live appearance on New Zealand shores.

From serenading Ellen and Jimmy Fallon, to abseiling across the world’s biggest festival crowd at Brazil’s Rock in Rio, to guesting at the Radio Disney Music Awards, sitcom Girl Meets World and The Voice US, Canada and Australia, Sheppard continue to reject the notion of impossible and the Justin Bieber Purpose Tour will push the limits again for the independent Brisbane act.

The Purpose Tour will take the band to Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium, Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Perth’s nib Stadium and Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland for the biggest shows the band have done on home soil.

“We’ve done some huge shows overseas like Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza in the states, Summersonic in Japan and V Festival in the UK, but this will be the first time we’ll have the chance to play shows of this size here at home” said George Sheppard. “To be able to do it with an artist like Justin on his album tour for what I think is one of the best pop records of the decade, is a real honour for us.”
