'Call Me', the latest track by Wellington electro-pop singer and producer Josie Moon made last week's New Music Friday playlists from Spotify Australia/NZ and Japan and influential UK blogger Popjustice, as well as getting picked up by local pop radio and blogs. Now she shares the moody and cinematic video for the track, by local director Taylor Mansfield and filmed at the iconic location of Chateau Tongariro.

Moon says her forthcoming EP Rose Tinted is strongly influenced by film, and she wanted this to be shown in the visual for 'Call Me'.

"The song is ultimately about isolation, but I wanted the video to be more than someone who had just been left alone in the middle of nowhere, I wanted it to be about someone who is moulded by and grows due to the nature of their surroundings. With this concept, it was really important that we found a location that had a personality that we could interact with as if it was a character.

"I was inspired by The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shining with how integral the visual scape of the location was and how it was used in tandem with the narrative. Tongariro Chateau has such a sense of grandeur but also has corners that look almost eerie at points. We were able to use different locations in the hotel to explore the character development that occurs in the music video for' Call Me'.

"This was the first time I've worked with a director, and chose Taylor Mansfield because he had some really interesting and intimate shots in some of his previous music videos that conveyed the type of feeling I wanted to emulate. He was really receptive to my ideas and we ended up road-tripping to the hotel for the shoot which made us really comfortable and the shoot much easier. I think we achieved something really unique, and I'm excited to release it."
