SIX60 Western Springs show sold out!

SIX60’s ground-breaking concert on 23 February has sold out. The audience of 50,000 means that this is the biggest ever headline show by a Kiwi act, at the iconic Western Springs Stadium.

The audience at New Zealand’s biggest stadium is five times the size of SIX60’s previous sell-out shows at Auckland’s Villa Maria Winery, and bigger than the band’s record-breaking 40,000 ticket tour, last summer.

SIX60 frontman Matiu Walters says the decision to play Western Springs came out of the band wanting to do something different and something bold, and change things up from previous concerts.

"Our New Zealand fans have always felt like the sixth member of the band. They follow us around the world and spread our music everywhere they go. When we put on a show at home, it’s always with the thought of creating an incredible collective experience.

“With the tour last year selling out, and Villa Maria selling out so quickly and being such an amazing night the fans really forced us to ask what’s next. How do we create the most incredible SIX60 experience?

“Western Springs - the idea of 50,000 Kiwis together creating such a historical moment - just felt like it had to happen. It’s gonna be an honour for me to be part of the 50,000 and that we can say we sold out Western Springs."

“Many aspects of this are overwhelming, not just for New Zealand music but for a band dedicated to their craft and to their fans,” says Promoter Brent Eccles.

“SIX60 are truly a band of the people…a lot of people and we should all feel so proud of them! It’s a shit hot result!”

The show also features an impressive support line-up curated by SIX60 of the biggest Kiwi acts right now Drax Project, Sons of Zion, SWIDT and IllBaz.
