Blending driving guitars, thunderous drums, and unforgettable hooks, ‘Ghosts of Summer’ covers themes of self-reflection and growth by lyrically delving into the bittersweet echoes of the past. In speaking to metaphorical ‘ghosts’, ‘Ghosts of Summer’ evokes those remnants of who we once were, which surface in quiet moments of self-reflection. The song captures the lingering ache of choices and moments gone by, while urging listeners to confront their ‘ghosts’ with courage. 

Heavy on nostalgia but determinedly forward-thinking, The Transits blend their love of cult horror flicks, surf ‘n’ skate culture, teenage testosterone and punk, indie, synth-pop into big, boisterous, anthemic tunes with a dark, gothic-cinema edge. The dichotomy of The Transits is evident in their light but dark; familiar yet fresh; quiet then loud; impossibly catchy while sometimes sinister music and visuals.

Consisting of now Auckland-based band members Dom Antelme (vocals, bass) and Tyrone Smith (drums), with Ryan Lunn (vocals, guitars, synths, production) still based in Durban, the talented trio find the distance no issue as they effortlessly create their music remotely. 

Their compact, hard-hitting songs possessing catchy melodies, classic pop-punk song-writing, searing guitar hooks and intricate production have grabbed media attention and yielded instant success for the trio.

2024 saw the release of their self-titled debut album, with two of the four singles charting in the Top 40 in South Africa, with addictive hit single 'When You Went Away' charting in the Top 10. The band has had glowing features and reviews across major music media in the US, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, capped by a feature in Rolling Stone magazine.

The 2025 journey begins with their lead single, ‘Ghosts Of Summer’ accompanied by an epic music video, and over the year the band will unveil a series of key singles and B-sides, all building up to the release of their second album.
