Kane Strang reveals music video for 'Not Quite'

Kane Strang has unveiled the official video for 'Not Quite', taken from the Taite Music Prize finalist album Two Hearts and No Brain.

The voyeuristic video follows Kane as he wanders through a lonely mansion, with teddy bears, lace cushions and lampshades seemingly his only company as he watches and waits for something or someone.  Kane says of the video "We made this at Eliza's Manor which is a very strange hotel in Christchurch. The room that doubled as our set and my accommodation had "Eliza's Room" on the door and as soon as the crew left me alone all the lights started flickering. There was also a teddy bear collection in the hallway. Julian and I went into shooting without much of a concrete story in mind but I like the idea that my character is a nosy ghost, eating the hotel guest's food and reading their letters when they're not around."

Taking to well-worn subject matter (heartbreak, loneliness, family) with a disarmingly frank scalpel, Strang’s wryly deadpan lines never miss a beat - the results often sardonic, and always captivating.
